Salus appointed to groundbreaking Health and Bioscience centre

Salus are proud to have been chosen as approved inspector by Loughborough university for the Health and Biosciences building and National Centre for Sports (HEBS2) and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) in the East Park area of the campus.

New Bioscience Building at Loughborough University

The £10 million NCSEM is one of three pioneering sports and exercise medicine centres to be established in UK. The centre will help people to be more active and will treat injuries caused by exercise, as well as conditions associated with lack of exercise. It will also help people use physical activity as a means of coping with existing medical conditions such as diabetes.

The centre will be run by a consortium of six university and hospital partners. Alongside Loughborough will be the University of Nottingham, University of Leicester, Nottingham University NHS Trust, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and Nottingham Healthcare NHS Trust.

The proposed building will also provide accommodation and facilities for the University’s Health and Biosciences Department.

The NCSEM facility will be two storeys high, while the HEBS part of the building will be three storeys high.

Construction will take approximately two years to complete.
