Retail case study – Asda, Saving you money every day

Over the last two years Salus have been proudly carrying out building control services for Asda stores. A major part of that work has been our involvement in the remodel and branding refresh programme of existing stores across the country.

Working closely with WCEC Architects we regularly engage in early consultation and discussion over the proposals to ensure changes in-store are compliant with Building Regulations and do not adversely affect the fire safety strategy.

Some projects posed a particular challenge with the introduction of concession space for French sports giant Decathlon but were resolved early in the concept with the designer to ensure the revised fire strategy was satisfactory and also agreeable with the Fire Authorities.

The refresh programme is still in progress and stores are notable by the distinctive yellow spark in the new Asda logo.
