Project Description
Salus have been appointed as Approved Inspector on a prestigious 600 bed hotel located in close proximity to Heathrow Airport. The six storey building also incorporates a basement car park and associated dining, leisure and conferencing facilities.
The bedrooms on the upper floors are set in a figure of eight with a large open-plan ground floor dining area open at high level into 2 atrium spaces.
Passive design features were incorporated with energy efficient plans including a CHP unit to meet the domestic hot water loads and an open loop ground source heat pump is proposed to provide the heating and cooling demands of the building. The proposed strategy resulted in a 6.2% improvement on Part L 2010 CO2 emissions. The works having just started at the beginning of November and are expected to last approximately 18 months before the new first class hotel opens.
