Project Description

Salus Approved Inspectors were proud to be appointed by Liverpool City Council for the new Picton Pool Leisure Centre in Wavertree. Now known as the Liverpool Aquatics Centre, it is a state of the art facility comprising one of the few Olympic sized pools in the UK. The main 8 lane, 50m pool is suitable for national competitions and has a movable floor allowing both depth and slope variations. It is complemented by a separate 4 lane, 20m pool for public and training use. Adjoining it the existing sports centre also underwent major refurbishment to provide a new gym and fitness centre.

Handled by our Wirral office, Salus were appointed early in the project’s design. Following initial meetings with the architect we prepared a detailed report on key areas of Building Regulation compliance including fire strategy which helped to smooth the approval process when formal consultation with the fire authority was carried out.
