Project Description

Appointed by Forme Uk, Salus Approved Inspectors worked alongside the large team behind the £25m refurbishment of 82 Baker Street to provide building control for the scheme.

The 100,000 sq ft building nestled in the heart of Westminster and originally designed as the Marks and Spencer HQ in 1904 has undergone extensive refurbishment throughout to provide leading creative agency Publicis with new cutting edge energy and space efficient offices.

Central to the open plan design was the new glass atrium which unifies the space providing the physical link between the original 1900s building and the later 1930s addition. The 2 buildings linked at the first, second, third and fourth floors incorporate interconnecting bespoke glass stair cases which lead to a biodiverse roof and roof terrace. Great attention was given to the original façade of the building with an aim to enhance the appearance of it through colour, restoration and upgrade of the original elements. Thus returning the stature of the building reminiscent of when it was originally built whilst still achieving a contemporary, refreshing and modern work space. With such ambitions and bespoke designs

Salus were involved from the very early stages of the project working closely with key stakeholders of the development to ensure that our client’s visions were executed efficiently. We worked together with the fire engineers to ensure that we achieved our client’srequirements by delivering toiled solutions to their bespoke designs that were fully compliant.
