Monty’s Deli in London’s east end is one of our Central London offices’ latest completed projects. The ‘Jewish soul food’ deli was once declared the ‘best value lunch in London’ by professional chef Tom Kerridge.

Salus, appointed through architect Dan Marks Studio provided building control on what is their first permanent restaurant.

Located on Hoxton Street, this scheme saw the conversion of a 220sqm, 40 year old bakery which was later discovered to have been a well-known Victorian butchers prior to this. The space was renovated to expose the buildings original Victorian features optimising its character whilst providing a contemporary functional deli through the demolition of structural elements and pre-propping to create an open space.

Monty’s Deli, popular for making everything (even down to their mustard) in-house, was first established as a market stall in 2012. The restaurant is set to be a great success and Salus wish them best of luck on their new venture. We’ll be sure to stop by for a famous salt beef bagel when next out on site nearby.
